The unique operation "Spider's Web", which was carried out by Ukraine's special services on enemy territory, continues to be dismantled. We would like to remind you that on 1 June, FPV drones attacked military airfields throughout the territory of Russia and destroyed a large number of strategic aircraft. The approximate cost of the damage is $7bn, but in this case the money does not matter, because the aircraft carrying nuclear weapons were destroyed or significantly damaged, which after the collapse of the USSR are not produced in Russia and cannot be replaced, because the aggressor country has no technological capabilities for this.

Here's What We Know

Of course, the special services of Ukraine do not disclose all the details of the unique operation, but some information appears in the network.

Military analysts of the Ukrainian portal Defence Express have studied the videos published by the SBU and assume that the attacks on airbases were carried out by FPV drones "Osa" (Osa), produced by the company First Contact.

Back in 2024, the manufacturer successfully tested drones with artificial intelligence and machine vision, which allow them to recognise targets and attack them independently without additional operator commands.

The Wasp drone has a specific enclosed design with a massive frame that protects the electronics from unfavourable weather conditions and ensures reliability during transport.

The Wasp UAV is capable of carrying up to 3.3kg of payload, staying in the air for up to 15 minutes and accelerating up to 150km/h. Analysts believe that for the attack, the drones were equipped with special chassis with possible use of shaped charge munitions for maximum target engagement. The UAVs were flown from specially prepared heavy-duty vehicles that were driven up to military airfields.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed the loss of 34% of russia's strategic aviation. In turn, the General Staff reported the destruction of 12 aircraft in its 2 June report.
